Almagell Winter Week 2.0

15-22 March 2025 (saturday-saturday) in Saas Almagell

Last year’s pilot week with three families and kids was a game-changer. Sharing the joys (and challenges) of parenthood while still enjoying social life and winter sports proved to be a winning combination. This year, we’re taking it up a notch and turning it into a tradition!

For the second edition, we’ll be a bigger crew—eight families (yes, it’s going to be wild!). While many of you may not know each other yet, trust us: you’re all an amazing bunch. Triin & Tom can vouch for this, as they hand-picked everyone for their handsome, successful, smart, international, and fun-loving personalities—all while being parents of toddlers. Get ready for good vibes and a fantastic week together!

For those new to the experience

Chalet Edelweiss, a standalone chalet in Saas Almagell, located right next to the slopes. The chalet is reserved exclusively for us (no strangers—just us and our chaos!).

The setup is ideal for families: Cozy living- and dining area with a bar where we can hang out together. A game room and places for the kids to play. Private bedrooms, each with 2, 3, or 4 (bunk) beds and its own shower or bathtub. Check out the floor plans for more details.

The setup is self-service, meaning cooking and other chores will be a group effort.

To ensure everything runs smoothly, Whitney, Jack, Triin, and Tom have teamed up to handle the organization and keep everyone informed. Rest assured they have no idea what they are doing!

Preparation tips and info

Saas Almagell

Is a tiny village. Hand full of restaurants and small slopes. Perfect for with kids. Right next to the chalet there is a ski lift which will take you to the slopes (Piste Map) There is a convenient Free bus to Saas Fee or you can drive and park however the parking is expensive. Arrival and departure

Checkin from 16:00, if you are there earlier, just let us know, you will be able to drop your stuff at any time. Parking for people with the car can be on premise (3 spots) or public parking 5 minutes away.

Whats at the house

The Chalet is a 3 story building. Bedrooms are on the upper 3 floors. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, dining/living-room and Bar. In the cellar there is a games room equipped with board games, Playstation, TV, bingo, darts. There are toys for toddlers, but feel free to bring (and leave if you want) toys or games. There are also a couple of sledges available to use. The Chalet is equipped with a professional kitchen and dishwasher to allow easy service of large groups. There is a washer and dryer available for the inevitable mess on childrens clothes (and red wine spills)

What should I bring?

Whatever you’d bring to a hotel when going on a wintersport week. For the ones traveling by Car you can bring extra board games or fun stuff with you. A baby monitor would be good because you won’t hear the kids when we are downstairs. We won’t judge if you ‘accidentaly’ forget the baby monitor.

Ski pass & SaastalCard

We provide you with the SaastalCard, it gives discounts on the ski passes. You will have to organise it yourself, and it can be done beforehand. Prices for 6 days (SUN-FRI) Almagell (and 3 days of Saas Fee included) are ± CHF 241 per adult. Kids below 6 go for free. This can be bought on arrival and the price will not vary. adhock days are also a possibility for those not sure on how much they will ski.

Ski & gear

You can rent skis, boots and helmets from Derby Sport (5 mins from Edelweiss).

• To rent for 6 days for a child under 6 price is roughly 65 CHF
• To rent for 6 days for an Adult price is roughly 150 CHF

It would be recommended to book this as early as possible to minimise cost.

It is also possible to find good deals for 2nd hand childrens gear from Ricardo.ch. You can score some skis for 25 to 60 CHF. Facebook Marketplace is also a good option. Examples:

Private Chef
