Planning a trip with a larger group can be an exciting adventure! To help you make the most of your time at Chalet Edelweiss, we’ve put together some practical tips to ensure your stay is smooth and enjoyable.

Share your Guest List

We kindly ask that you provide us with your guest list as early as possible, but no later than two weeks before your arrival. You can use our Guest List Template to make the process simple and efficient.

Plan your travel

Traveling as a group often means coordinating different schedules and transport options. Here’s what you need to know:

• Car: You can drive to the chalet and park up to 3 cars on-site. If you’re bringing more vehicles, additional parking is available at a nearby public parking area, just a 5-minute walk from the chalet. Important to have winter tires (or snow chains) during the winter-season.
• Airports: Nearby airports include Geneva, Zurich, Basel, and Milan Malpensa (IT). Each offers various transportation options to Saas-Almagell. From there its between 2 or 3 hours to Visp.
• Public Transport: Take the train to Visp and then bus 511 to Saas Fee (transfer at Saas Grund bus stop Post)

What to pack

We recommend packing as you would for any mountain holiday. However, here are a few specific tips:

• Check What’s Included to see what we provide at the chalet.
• Bring warm, comfortable house shoes—our floors can be a bit chilly.

Initial grocery shopping

For guests arriving by car, we recommend doing your grocery shopping in Visp, where you’ll find larger stores like Aldi and Lidl with great prices. While the local Volg supermarket is convenient, it’s smaller and slightly more expensive. With 1400L of fridge, and 700L of freezer, there is no lack of space for storage.

We also offer drinks on-site for 2 CHF each, and you can pre-order beer for the tap through us.

SaastalCard

All guests staying at Chalet Edelweiss will receive a SaastalCard, which provides various discounts and benefits in the area. This card is included with your stay and cannot be opted out. Learn more here: SaastalCard Information

Ski Passes

With your SaastalCard, you’ll receive discounts on ski passes if booked in advance.

• 6-Day Pass (Sun–Fri): CHF 241 per adult, including access to Almagell slopes and 3 days in Saas-Fee.
• Children under 6: Ski for free.

Rent Ski & Gear

We recommend renting your ski gear from Derby Sport, located just a 5-minute walk from the chalet.

• Child under 6: Approx. CHF 65 for 6 days.
• Adult: Approx. CHF 150 for 6 days.

Booking early is recommended to ensure availability and secure the best rates.
