Winter activities for families with kids in Saas Almagell

We have young kids ourselves and we know how important it is to have things to do to keep them entertained (so that also the parents can have a break 😉 Saas Almagell has plenty of of that going around for babies, toddlers and upwards to early teens. Saas Almagell is not for nothing the preferred village by many of the Saas Valley.

The accommodation, Chalet Edelweiss, itself offers a great range of gear for parents to keep the little ones busy. We have some (original Davos) sledges which you can use in front of the door (the slopes end in the back yard). And inside we have a very well equipped game room and the exciting toddler room on the 3rd floor.

Did we mention that we also supply baby cams, travel cots, and high-chairs? Well we do. Again, we are parents of young children ourselves, so we know what it takes.

Best kids snow play area in the Saas Valley!

Kian’s Adventure Land deserves a special section on our website because it is just so perfect. This is the perfect place for children to ski in a sunny location and surrounded by dragons, penguins, lions, and other friends from the animal world. Snow tubing, snow scooters, igloos, entertainment and more! The Furggstalden ‘plateau’ is the perfect place to setup your base. Restaurants, Kian’s adventure land and of course regular ski and snow board.

Take the lift up (50m from Edelweiss) to Furggstalden (or walk) and setup your base there. Claim a spot at the restaurant or terrace. Fun and adventure are guaranteed in Kian’s adventure land for the little ones. While mom and dad are taking turns skiing, the kids discover a tepee, an igloo with movies, a free snow tubing track (for the whole family 😉 and children’s Snow Mobiles (Skidoos). For the youngest ones, there is a carousel with a playground.

Who doesn’t love snow tubing?

Snow fun in the middle of the Saas-Almagell ski area. A lift takes adventurous skiers comfortably to the start before the winding ride in the snowtubing starts. In the home stretch, the brakes are then applied slowly and safely. The fast-paced fun on rubber tyres is fit for the whole family.

Children’s snowmobile

One of the main attractions in Saas-Almagell is undoubtedly the children’s Skidoo park. This latest generation of snowmobiles has been specially developed for children. With a top speed of 20 km/h, driving safety is guaranteed and suitable for children from the age of 6.

A via ferrata, meaning “iron path” in Italian, is a protected climbing route featuring iron steps, ladders, and secure cables, allowing even beginners to safely scale mountain terrain. People travel from all over the world to experience the thrill of climbing combined with stunning alpine views and a unique sense of adventure.

This winter via ferrata is designed for kids from 8 years and up under the expert supervision. This adventure combines the excitement of climbing with the safety of guided support, making it a perfect winter activity for young adventurers. Of course, parents who are also welcome to take part in this activity and together you carv out some core memories.
